Banjara Mirrored Galla
Item Id: GAL0221813
This colorful textile is from the Banjara tribe in Rajasthan, India. These pieces, known as Galla, were once used as part of traditional clothing. Embroidery, applique, shisha mirror work, and cowrie shells usually adorn these beautiful tribal textiles. Today's tribal belly dancers like to use them as belt panels. They also make fabulous wall hangings. Two small mirrors are missing, but none are cracked. Rajasthan, India.
