Banjara Temple Ornaments
Item Id: TO10220
Temple ornaments, as I call them, are worn by the Banjara women of Rajasthan as part of their head adornment. These spiky metal "buttons" were strung either on top of a bell shaped earring called a jhumka or in the hair and are worn on the side of the head usually along the cheek. Old coins were often used on the backs of many of these. Each vintage button has a loop on the back making it easy to attach to your costuming.
These have seen authentic tribal use and may have dents, missing pieces, and dirt embedded into them. Great for tribal belts, headdresses, bras, or necklaces. Made from a metal alloy. Sold as a pair. Rajasthan, India.
Dimensions: Approx. 1-1.5" x 1-1.5", size varies
