Mirrored textile remnants are repurposed into tribal mirror belts. The mirrors, held in place with hand embroidery, are thought to ward off evil spirits. Tribal belly dancers like to use these textile pieces as belt bases, bra trim, or headpiece bases. Shisha mirrors are a great way to add a traditional look to your tribal costume and they sparkle and shine on stage! An amazing belt base, this one is decorated with small metal medallions all along the lower edge. Nice tight colorful embroidery accents and holds the mirrors in place. And, a few strips of white seed beads are sewn between each mirror. One large mirror is missing. India.
